Divergent!

As most of you know - Divergent is probably my favorite book. Not the series necessarily... but the first book is probably my favorite book to read out of any that I enjoy. I love the storyline and love the main characters Tris and Four. I was SO excited when I found out that they were turning it into a movie! I was also a little skeptical. 'The Hunger Games' didn't live up to my expectations, 'I am Number Four' was good - but too different from the book, don't even get me started on 'Twilight' and the horrible decision they made to cast Kristen Stewart as Bella (urghh) and 'The Host' was just downright terrible! It's so hard to take a book that is so well loved and adapt it to fit into a movie without changing too much of the plot line or having it make no sense to people who haven't read the actual book. 'Harry Potter' did it the best, 'Tomorrow When The War Began' was also great (for an Aussie made film), 'My Sister's Keeper' was done very well and I liked 'The Mortal Instruments' and the 'Percy Jackson' series (especially the casting choices!). I won't continue to list the 'book to movie' adaptations that I did and didn't like and will instead move on to Divergent! 

Some friends (and fellow Divergent lovers) and I went to the midnight (11:20pm weirdly enough) screening of it last night and I absolutely LOVED it! It might have helped that I was so skeptical going in... I really didn't picture Tris as a character who could be played by Shailene Woodley and I love Four and was so worried Theo James couldn't pull it off... well - they both did FANTASTIC! I was not disappointed one time and can't wait to see it again. Shailene killed it as Tris and Theo... well... I may just have a new man crush! He was the exact version of Four that I had in my head! Congratulations to the cast and crew who managed to make such an incredible film version of this amazing book! Do your self a favor - go see it! I can't wait to see it again! Little does Paul know - I am already planning to take him for our next date night! Hope he likes it as much as me! : )
