Pure Joy!

Hayden has been playing basketball for the past couple months and last Saturday he scored his very first basket! He has shot baskets before in training but once the game gets going and the kids are all up in each others faces when they are trying to shoot they don't have as much luck. Hayden has always been a good runner on the team and is always running from one end of the court to the other and getting himself under the basket and in a good position quickly. It paid off the last game as one of his team mates spotted him open under the ring and threw him the ball. Hayden caught it, looked around and saw everyone running towards him, shot a glance at the coach who yelled 'shoot it' and took his shot. It went in and the look on his face was priceless! He had a look of pure joy. The biggest smile and everyone watching (from both teams) cheered for him and laughed at the excited look on his face. He was so happy and smiled for the rest of the game. When he finished the game he came over and was so excited to talk to Dad about scoring his first 'goal' as he put it. It's moments like this that makes giving up Saturdays for training and games so worth it! I was such a proud Mum and so happy we were all there to see his big moment. His last game is this Saturday and he is even more pumped then usual to play! Go Hayden!
