Disneyland!

Just before Christmas we headed down to California to take the kids to Disneyland! We planned the holiday with the Woods and decided it would be fun to hire a 12 seater 'party bus' and drive down together! We stopped in Vegas the first night and finished the trip the next day. We didn't want to start our six day Disneyland pass until the following day so we took our time and stopped off in Hollywood and Santa Monica. Emma really wanted to go to Hollywood so she could see the 'Hollywood Sign' and Kylie and Danika really wanted to stop in Santa Monica so they could go to the beach.

Hollywood was - as expected - crazy busy, so we didn't stop long. We had a look around the Chinese Theatre and took some photos with the famous 'hand and foot' prints. We also saw the Kodak Theatre and a few other 'famous' Hollywood spots including the Hollywood sign. After we had seen enough of Hollywood we made our way to Santa Monica Pier. The kids had so much fun running up and down the beach and getting very wet! They were collecting shells and writing things in the sand. We also had dinner at the pier and had a quick look around before hitting the road again - on to Castle Inn and Disneyland!

Disneyland was so much fun! The kids loved every minute of it. They met and took picture with lots of different Disney characters and went on just about every ride possible! Some of the rides weren't fit for expectant Mothers - but that also meant they were too scary or dangerous for Chanley too - so that worked out well. I hung with Chanley while the others went on those rides. She really is the cutest baby ever! I didn't mind missing out cause it meant I got to hang with her. Although at one point I took her on a ride that was a little scary and she cried the whole time! I thought she might not trust me after that but luckily she was fine : )

The kids were exhausted by lunch time so most days we left the park to eat, let the kids watch a bit of tv or nap, had a swim in the pool and then headed back into the park in the evening. The kids were super lucky and got to have one night each with Dad alone in the park from dinner time until midnight. It was their special night to choose whatever they wanted to eat, go on any rides they liked and pick a special treat to have. They both kept Paul on the move until midnight and even though he was exhausted and ended up getting sick afterwards - it was the highlight of the trip for the kids. They both had such a blast hanging with Dad and calling the shots! I was done for by the evenings too so it meant I could hang out in the hotel and rest.

All in all the trip was exhausting but highly successful! We all had so much fun and it was great being able to share the memories with our good friends! It made it all the more fun! I am so glad we thought to do the trip before the arrival of the twins - although it is somewhere we will be heading back to once the twins are a bit older! Too much fun for them to miss out! Here are some collages of the photos we took : )
