On Tuesday of last week (5th April) Hayden played his first soccer game with his team. Turns out his team isn't called the sharks... the coach AGAIN didn't understand us and thought we said 'Shocks' so apparently the team is called 'The Shockz' with a 'z'. It was FREEZING at the game. So windy and so cold. Poor Hayden didn't have long sleeves on and was so cold but pushed through. Emma went to the car because she couldn't handle it and I got really sick after!
Either way the team was fantastic and Hayden was a super star! We weren't sure how he would go in his first game but he did so well. He scored 3 goals and saved a bunch of goals when he played in goals too! He absolutely loved being on the field and it really showed in his massive smile! He never stopped trying and made us so proud!
The game was won by the Shockz 8-1 and they really did work well together as a team. Hayden, Blake and the coaches daughter Kylie were especially lethal when they played at the same time. The coach ended up having to make sure one of them was sitting out each time or the other kids on the team wouldn't get a shot with the ball.
It was awesome watching Hayden play - he really does have a natural talent for sports and we are so excited to watch him continue to grow and develop his skills as the season progresses! Great job buddy! We are so proud of you! His next game is tonight - this time we will be better prepared with warmer clothes but just as excited to watch him work his magic! Go Shockz!
