At the dinner table tonight we got onto a discussion about Paul's Nanna. We were eating spaghetti and meatballs and telling the kids how it was his Nanna's recipe. They got a little confused and thought we meant their Nanna. Paul tried to explain it better by saying "Grandad's Mum". This led to a discussion about how it is confusing to have two people called Grandad. We often have to refer to them as Grandma's Grandad or Nanna's Grandad. When the kids started discussing alternative names to make things less confusing e.g "we could call one of the pop or Grandpa?" and then trying to figure out what the Italian way of saying Grandad was, Hayden came out with 'a great idea!'. He suggested we call Nanna chick and Grandad Al! When Dad asked why he would call them that he replied with "Because that's what they call each other all the time!" So we now apparently have Grandma, Grandad, Chick and Al! hahaha - too cute!
