Jenny had told me a while ago that Jamie Oliver had opened a new Italian restaurant in Perth and said we should try it while I was back home. We decided to head out with Mandy and our cousins Vicki and Esther who were also visiting Perth (Vicki from the UK and Esther from Germany). Dad kindly offered to take us into the city because I was the only one allowed to drive their new car and I was having hesitations about city driving after driving on the other side of the road for four years (and it was probably justified considering I accidentally drove on the wrong side of the road numerous times during our trip!)
Jamie's didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the wait staff were super friendly (especially considering that this is Perth and you don't tip). We had mains and deserts and a really good chat and laugh. We were originally heading home via train so Dad wouldn't need to come all the way into the city again - but upon reaching the train station we discovered the north bound line was out of service for maintenance. This meant Dad had to come get us after all. We decided to head over to the designated meeting point and on the way stopped by the love locks statue to take some photos. We did have a scary run in with some not very nice, very drunk girls and had to flee to the train station instead of the meeting spot so we could stand by the transit guards - but that is one long, unpleasant story that I don't intend to share on my family blog. Jamie's was a fun night. Thanks for suggesting it Jenny and thanks Dad for all the chauffeuring : )
