A catch up with Kristi & Meeting new neighbours!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I decided to take the kids down to the park for a run around and to kick the soccer ball. Paul was at the BYU rugby game with his old mission companion and was meeting us at the park once he was done. When we arrived my phone rang and it was my friend Kristi from Canada (Her hubby and Paul served together in NZ). Kristi was in town and close by and wanted to catch up! I gave her the directions to the park and she came and met us with her sister in law, cousin and her cousins wife.

Kristi was in town because she was running the SLC marathon. She decided to start running/training after a phone call with her sister one day and has since then ran in two marathons! She looks amazing and is so inspiring! It was so great to see her and catch up! She was excited to see my belly bump too!

While we were at the park a family came down with their dog. The dog was a labradoodle and was so cute. The boys started trying to get the ball from the dog so they could throw it for them. I heard the lady speaking to the boys about the dog and noticed she had an accent. I asked her where she was from and she said Finland. I asked how long they had lived in Utah and she said just over a year. I then mentioned that we had been here for around the same amount of time. When she asked where we were from and I said Australia she said she had some Australians living near her.

People tend to ask us if we know Australians no matter where they are from so I assumed this was another one of those situations. That was until she said she lived on Martha Dunyon. That's when we realised she was talking about us! Turns out we live only two houses away from each other and both moved into the area around the same time! Small world! They are a really nice family and have two little boys ages 4 and 18 months. Emma loved the youngest boy and was playing with him for ages.

It was nice to meet our neighbours and we have since exchanged phone numbers and agreed to get together so the kids can play again - especially since our kids LOVED playing with their dog! They also have no family here so they were saying how nice it was to meet new people and make new friends! : )
