On Friday Sarah and I went to visit the tulip gardens at Thanksgiving Point. We weren't sure what to expect but were told it was a pretty way to spend a morning so thought we would check it out. After be directed by the GPS to some rural outback private property, we managed to find the REAL tulip gardens and went on in. We hired a golf cart (which I was very excited about) and set off through the gardens. I had never driven a golf cart before and the first part was a steep hill with pedestrians to dodge so I let Sarah (who has driven buggies and 4 wheelers around her country property) take over for a while. It was fun cruising around and checking out the flowers which were so beautiful!

We decided that it was such a nice place to visit that we had to come back that night with Paul and the kids so they could experience it too. We again hired a golf buggy and all squeezed on! This time Paul drove of course! It was so much busier in the evening then when Sarah and I had been so we had a lot of trouble trying to get through the paths with so many people standing or walking in the way! It actually became more like off roading as Paul has to go around groups of people on the grass! It was still a lot of fun though!

The kids liked the 'secret garden' part of the gardens best. It had a walkway made out of twigs with big wooden doors that led to a court yard with so many flowers, benches and a duck pond. It was really pretty and Emma (who loves the movie 'The Secret Garden'' really enjoyed it! We also got to stop at a big waterfall and walk around looking at some markets and displays. People were selling everything from jam to frogs! It was such a beautiful place to visit and we managed to get some really nice photos too... I must admit though... charging around in the golf buggy when hardly anyone was there was my favourite part... even if we did realise the brakes weren't fantastic as we sped down a gravel road towards a lake! : )
